Hi, I am a Citibank nri customer from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Today, I wished to send money to my home very urgently (which I do often) and got stuck up with wrong password and things like that. I contacted customer service for help and they told me that the account is locked and can be opened only after seven (7) days. I failed to understand what kind of service is it, when a customer himself identifies and request to open the account and it is informed it will take seven (7) days. I have not heard any other banking service where it takes seven (7) days to reset an account. It normally takes couple of hours to max. One overnight delay. Thanks for your services.

This to bring to your attention and immediate action to resolve an apparent problem with my NRE account (A/C 5030685557). The facts are:
1. The account is in dormant state. No transactions can be made. To make the account active, your customer service department advised me to transfer funds from any USA bank. I complied with the advice and deposited 500 dollars in to the account. This happened almost six weeks ago. So far your bank has not made the account active even after repeated contacts. The last person I talked to is Mr Gautam Kapoor. He is also unable to resolve the issue so far. I need to access the funds in my account ASAP.
