College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur, Mohuda is the premier pharmacy institution established in the year 1979 with D.Pharm and B.Pharm courses with an aim to generate technical manpower in the field of Pharmacy to handle the professional activities of dispensing of drugs by registered persons to meet the statutory requirements of section 42 of Pharmacy Act, 1948, in this state in particular and in the country in general besides aiming to cater the growing needs of health services, to serve the pharmaceutical industry in excellent manner, drug control administration, and to update the pharmacy profession in Education and Research and other allied arenas to meet the clarion call of health for all. In the academic session 2000-01 , M.Pharm courses in Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Chemistry and in 2004-05 M.Pharm course in Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance is introduced is provided by College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur .
The contribution of Ganjam and Phulbani Chemists and Druggists Association to developing this institution remarkable. GPCDA is a registered under society act XXI of 1860 vide Registration number 9822/147 of 9976-77, Orissa, which runs the college through a duly constituted Governing Body as per AICTE guidelines.
Presently this College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur is located in a panoramic, greenery and picturesque site with natural academic friendly environment at Mohuda, in very spacious land of 23 acres, which is around 7 kms from Berhampur town. Berhampur is in the Howrah- Chennai main line, which is well connected by rail and road. Bhubaneswar is the nearest Airport, which is around 170 kms by road/rail.

The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur is well equipped with excellent infrastructure of permanent buildings with state of Act facilities (Laboratories, Lecture hall’s Seminar Halls, Instruments Unit, Computer Unit etc) with all required additional amenities as per the AICTE, PCI norms. This is the only College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur in the entire eastern belt to procure a world class FTIR spectroscopy from Perkins Elmer of Switzerland, besides having other Modern Analytical Techniques instruments for providing a strong research base. The College is recognized as a model research center for the Ph.D programs by various Universities.
A well furnished College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur library with around 7000 books and more than 30 Journals (National & International) / periodicals are provided with adequate reading room, internet access and Xerox machine. A well furnished modern computer laboratory with 51 Computer systems out of which internet connection is provided to 25 computers.
The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur has received several financial assistance for the Research & Development activities from University Grants Commission under Major and Minor Research Projects from AICTE under R&D and MODROBS schemes respectively.
For the first time in the state of Orissa, the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur has successfully started Cancer Chemotherapy research Unit at the college under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr) A.U.De, an internationally acclaimed Scientist and his team of faculty of this Institution. Academic merit awards are presented to outstanding Pharmacy Students every year during National Pharmacy Week celebration.
The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Berhampur students are sent to various Pharmaceutical Industries during the course work for a practical exposure and the placement is arrangement through career counseling net works and campus interviews. Permanent hostel building is available in Berhampur town besides other Hostel accommodations for boys & girls at sporadic sports in Berhampur town.
