Institute for Excellence in Higher Education – IEHE Bhopal was setup in 1995 by the state govt. with the intent that the Institute should become a seat of learning for the brightest students and should aim at a pointed thrust to bring about a qualitative change in the higher education system of the state and at grooming its manpower to meet the challenges emerging as a result of major economic and technological changes taking place in India and the world. The Institute should also strive at developing an IT friendly atmosphere with computerized digital library and offer extensive Internet exposure for students.
Institute for Excellence in Higher Education – IEHE Bhopal offers different kind of bachelor and master courses leading to different streams. The Institute offers the following honours courses at the undergraduate level. The duration of each programme is six semesters. Each academic session is divided into two semesters. The applicant may opt for any one of the honours subjects and in addition has to select any one of the subsidiary subjects in the scheme mentioned below. The foundation course is compulsory for all students.

A scholarship for needy students amounting to Rs. 6000 per year has also been instituted. These scholars are in addition to the Govt. Scholarships.
Teaching Methodology of Institute for Excellence in Higher Education – IEHE Bhopal is to initiate the students into the basics of the subject and develop in them a spirit of reasoning and an analytical outlook. For this, regular lectures are supplemented with group discussions, seminars, live-projects and tutorials for students. To facilitate these activities, the faculty is always available for guidance and co-ordination. Creativity is encouraged and students are discouraged to take up tuitions or resort to substandard study material.
Examination System of Institute for Excellence in Higher Education – IEHE Bhopal has devised and is gradually evolving a pattern which lays more emphasis in using examination as a tool for involving students closely in the teaching and learning process and familiarizing themselves with the various modes of competitive examination as also to ensure credibility in the examination system. Institute for Excellence in Higher Education – IEHE Bhopal proposes to introduce guidance and training classes for students aspiring to appear for competitive examination like UPSC, PSC, CA, CS and MBA. Desirous students may give their option in the admission form.
