Tilak College of Science and Commerce - Mumbai was started in the year 2002 - 2003 with B.Sc. and B.Com. In the year 2003-2004 the college added B.M.S., B.M.M., B.Sc. I.T and B.Sc. Bio-Tech. BSc Microbiology was started in 2006-2007.The college has started post graduation in science this year in MSc Computer Science and MSc IT.The college also plans to start MSc Biotechnology this academic year.

Science Lab of Tilak College of Science and Commerce - Mumbai has five well equipped Science Labs – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Tissue Culture which fulfill the need of the students. Efficient teachers and a separate lab assistant for each lab guide and instruct the students to do their best in the examination.
Computer and information Technology Lab of Tilak College of Science and Commerce - Mumbai is another feature of the college which gives more scope for the students in IT. It is highly useful for the students in improving their standard in the field of I.T. by which they can meet the future challenges of their career.
Gymkhana of Tilak College of Science and Commerce - Mumbai has been gifted with a very large playground where the students are given coaching for Cricket, Hockey, Football, Volleyball etc. There is a separate basketball ground for the students’ maximum use. Apart from outdoor games, indoor games like Chess, Carom etc. are also made available for the students. The college Gymkhana encourages the students to take part in developing their sportive spirit & athletic skills. It also conducts various tournaments of indoor games within the college and prepares the students to participate in various Inter- collegiate tournaments at Zonal/State/National level.
