National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research - NIPER Rae Bareli is a national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research - NIPER Rae Bareli is an autonomous body which has been established under the aegis of the Department of pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, in the Government of India, to provide leadership in pharmaceutical Sciences and other related areas. It admits students for M.S (Pharm), programmes in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics every year. The Central Drug Research Institute, CDRI – Lucknow is its Mentor Institute for providing the institutional support in respect to its management and as a nodal point for the Ministry.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research - NIPER Rae Bareli is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. In order to spread the culture of high quality education and research and to meet the growing demands of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry, Government of India has opened six more NIPERs at Ahmadabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Hazipur, Guwahati, and Rae Bareli. The college provide Master Degree and Doctoral program to the college students.

Modern knowledge resource center “The library” at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research - NIPER Rae Bareli is being developed as the state-of-the-art National library and Information center in Pharmaceutical Sciences under guidance of Library & Documentation center of Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. At present NIPER-Rae Bareli library has an inventory of 751 books and also some journals pertinent to Medicinal chemistry, Pharmaceutical formulations, and Drug delivery.

Separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls, which is fully secure and adequate for its need. Mess facility is also available for students staying in hostels, serving pure veg food. It provides very homely environment to students staying in hostels. College has specious playground with sports facilities for the games of football, cricket, volley ball and indoor games like table-tannis, caramboard, Chess etc. The college promotes extra-curricular activities so as to shape up the multifaceted personality of its students. They are encouraged to actively participate in extra-curricular activities.
