As a natural progression, in 1999, Society of St. Francis Industrial Training Institute started,
St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai . It is in the midst of a generous 5 acres of lush verdant settings in the interest of the students. The College is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Mumbai and is currently offers three programmes, leading to BE degree. From its inception, SFIT ranks one among the top six colleges under the University of Mumbai. Our placement record too, is enviable. At present, there are about 1300 students.
St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai was established in 1999 with a view to create an Engineering Degree Institute to fulfill the long felt public need of an Institute of Excellence in Borivli. SFIT has three Degree Programs in the most coveted disciplines considering both industrial need and public preference. These courses would lead to award of the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) in related discipline of Engineering.

St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai is located at Borivli (West), Mumbai. College offers Bachelor and Master courses leading to Engineering stream with various specializations. The SFIT library also has networked computers with On-line Library provides access to several Internet based research databases. These databases can be accessed from off-campus through Internet. The Mission of the St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai Library is to cater to the needs and interests of its academic community by providing recorded information and thought. The Institute has several networked computer laboratories for use in a wide range of subjects from all three engineering disciplines. Each lab is customized to some extent for the needs of particular disciplines, but is available to all Institute students when not reserved for classes.
St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai students continuously use the INTERNET for updating their database and to satisfy the quest for knowledge. Library facility of College has a first class Library supported with lots of Learning Resource. These provide a range of facilities, information and services to support your study needs. More than just books, there are multimedia resources such as CD ROMs, Videos, and DVDs. The Computer Lab of St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai is equipped with more than 100 Pentium IV IBM Computers with color monitor, multimedia facilities, scanner, and printers of all types. Computer Lab of is designed to offer students access and exposure to the latest equipment in the field.
Sports facility at St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai has provided the facility of indoor and outdoor games to its students. Students have the facility of playing chess, carom, Chinese checker, badminton and table-tennis. Similarly, the college is also providing facility for some outdoor games like volley ball, kho-kho and football, cricket etc. St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai sports facilities as a student you can use the sports facilities and join in a range of activities. College Fitness Centre offers the finest equipment available today.
Cafeteria facility at College an exclusive canteen is available in the campus offering tasty and hygienic food. In order to cater to all the students from different parts of India and aboard, South India, North Indian and Chinese dishes are offered. A modern departmental store is also functioning inside the campus for the benefit of St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai students. Besides, a Suggestion Box is kept at a prominent place for the students to address their concern. Cafeteria of College is a hygienic, well-furnished and well-equipped canteen is available in the campus to provide food at nominal rates for the staff and students.
Each Lab of St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai is equipped with printing facility. Each Class Room is equipped with LCD Projector and Laptop for teaching with visual presentation. Final year Students are strongly encouraged to have their own computers for routine work, in order to avoid end-of-semester bottlenecks in the labs. Institute has a full time Counsellor, (M.A. Psychology) working with the institution since June 2003. The Counsellor’s prime responsibility is to aid students in several ways. Apart from providing the right guidance, career counselling and support, St Francis Institute of Technology – SFIT Mumbai counsellor also addresses several academic related issues and personal problem. This is in addition to aiding students with family problems, stress and anxiety and coping with separation and new relationships. However addressing problems are not the only area of focus as the counsellor also assists with enhancing in program concentration and study skills to further develop the all round abilities of a student.
