PKR Arts College for Women - Erode was started in August 1994. "Colleges are not mere bricks and mortar structures set up to house hundreds of teenagers with ebullient energies during the best part of their lives- they are workshops of wisdom, seed beds of character and citadels of discipline nurturing great hearts and strong minds". We at PKR Arts College for Women - Erode know that education is not the mechanical acquisition of bookish knowledge but a comprehensive and systematic process involving the development of the body and the enrichment of the mind. We instill in the minds of our students a sense of dignity and self-confidence so that they become worthy members of the society. Our college, which is 10 years old, now is all set to emerge as a pioneer in the cause of women's education in this area.

PKR Arts College for Women - Erode is located at P.B.No.21, 127, Pariyur Road, Gobichettipalayam, Erode, Tamil Nadu. The library at PKR Arts College for Women - Erode is located in a 2666 sq.ft. Area. Situated in second floor of the main building, the library has a seating capacity for 100 users. Since its inception in 1994 the college Library has been building its collection on various disciplines. The collection caters to the needs of nearly 2500 students in general and around 150 members of teaching staff in particular. Presently the collection is above 19000 volumes and we subscribe to as many as 159 journals and magazines both national and international. CD ROMS, Audio Cassettes, Video Cassettes and floppy disks add to the stock of the information available in the library. The library also has the back volumes of journals.
There are two separate hostels in PKR Arts College for Women - Erode for U.G. and P.G. students. At present we have 1100 students and 40 staff in the hostel. Ms.Parvathi is efficiently managing the hostel. Apart from separate co-operative store, inside the college campus we also have a well-furnished canteen with all varieties of snacks and cool drinks. The canteen also provides the facility of placing bulk orders in case of functions. The canteen also contains all the stationeries, cosmetic items, snacks, hot drinks etc., the food which is prepared by the canteen people will be delicious, gives the students a homely feeling like eating their mother's food. This canteen is under the control of a private sector that has a contract with the college management.
PKR Arts College for Women - Erode possesses a well-equipped computer center with latest and advanced software. 24 hours internet facility is available. We have two separate labs for UG and PG. In the PG lab, we have enough number of systems with all the latest software installed in it. In the UG lab, also we have required number of systems with all the required facilities and configurations. The students can work even during the late night hours, for this purpose staff members were allotted according to the rotation basis to supervise the students. Two separate lab assistants are there for both UG and PG lab.
PKR Arts College for Women - Erode has a Co-operative store where the students can get all the stationeries in a lesser amount compared to other shops. The college by itself supplies its own notebooks in a very less price. All items needed by the hostel students are available. The store works from 8.30 a.m to 7.00 p.m daily. This store works for the benefit of the students, and it provides all the items including snacks at a reasonable cost. The hostel wardens efficiently manage this store.
PKR Arts College for Women - Erode has a physician, Dr. Poongothai B.Sc., M.B.B.S, who visits the college on alternate days of the week. Her consulting hours in the college campus is between 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. She has been a practitioner is in the field of medicine for the past 20 years and has her own clinic at Kacherimedu, Gobichettipalayam. She has been a visiting physician at various clinics in and around Gobi. Students suffering from minor ailments are treated in the campus. Serious ailments are recommended for treatment at the practioner's clinic. Complicated cases are referred to leading specialists at Erode / Coimbatore. In case of emergency the doctor is available at short notice.
