Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is the representative of the Berhampore constituency resides in west Bengal. He was born on 2nd April 1956 at Murshidabad, West Bengal. He is a member of Indian national
Congress political party. Currently he is an associate of the 16th
Lok Sabha of India. In the year 1970 when the political environment was aggressive and anxious, Ranjan left the study and started working as a district leader of youth congress. When he started working as political member, he was just of age 15. In the period of 1980, he became the
Booth agent as well as election agent for several congress parties of the district Murshidabad. His political status was being changed from time to time like in 1999 he became the MLA; in 1990 he became the councillor of Baharampur Municipality.
Shri Adhir has considered as the leader architect of party’s victor in the elections of zila Parishad and also in the elections of the municipalities of the district Murshidabad. In 1951, he won the lok Sabha seat when there were least chances of his winning. On 28th October, 2012 he introduced as a minister of state of Railways in the Union Ministry under the authorization of the Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh. After becoming the Minister of State Railways, he has reassessed the procedures of punctuality, safety and passenger’s facilities along with the guidance of Members of Board.
