Sir William
Mark Tully is a Journalist and writer. He was born in 1935 in Tollygunge, British India and he is the former
Bureau Chief of BBC, New Delhi. He did his schooling at British Boarding School,
Darjeeling and Twyford School, England. He further studied at
Marlborough College and also studied Theology at
Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He joined
Bbc in 1964 and returned to India in year 1965 to work as Indian Correspondent. He worked for BBC for thirty years and resigned in July 1994. During his period in BBC he covered the crucial incidents in South Asia. He was awarded Padma
Shree in 1992 and Padma Bhushan in 2005.
