Mary Robinson or
Mary Therese Winifred Robinson is the first female president of the Ireland. She served the Ireland from 1990 to 1997 as well as the United Nations High
Commissioner for Human Rights from the year 1997 to 2002. Mary Robinson was born in 1944 in Ballina, County Mayo. Her father, Dr. Aubrey Bourke of Ballina and mother, Dr. Tessa Bourke of Carndonagh both were medical doctors. She attended
Mount Anville Secondary School located in
Dublin and acquired the education of law from
Trinity College, King's Inns and
Harvard Law School. Mary Robinson initially involved in politician in 1979 and served until 1983. On December 3, 1990, she was elected as the seventh President of Ireland.
