Medha Patkar is known as a social reformer of India born on December 1, 1954 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is also considers as a founder member of the Narmada Bachao Andolan. She was an associate to the World Commission on Dams as well as also filed a petition in the High Court of the
Bombay against Lavasa. Medha Patkar has completed her M.A from the
Tata Institute of Social Sciences and after that worked in the Mumbai's slums and tribal districts of North-East Gujarat. Her activism includes Narmada Bachao Andolan, National
Alliance of People’s Movements, World Commission on Dams, Tata Nano Plant Singur, Lavasa, Jaitapur Nuclear Power Project,
