Point of Rocks is an unincorporated community of more than 1500 residents in
Frederick Community, Maryland, United States. It is a main stop on the
Maryland Commuter train line to
Washington D.C. It is named for the rock formation on the on the adjacent catoctin mountain formed by the
Potomac River. The famous attractions of the Point of Rocks include historic Band O station,
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park and the Potomac River.
