Ai Weiwei was born in May 1957 in Beijing, China. He is a Chinese contemporary artist. Ai Weiwei is active in film, photography, curating and political & cultural criticism. He was also the artistic consultant of Beijing National Stadium. He is also an open critic of Chinese government for their stance on human rights and democracy.
