Dr Ali Murad Davudi was an Iranian Bahá'í (a monotheistic religion emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind). He was born in 1922 and was a member of the national governing body of the Bahá'ís in Iran. Ali Murad was elected to the Iranian Bahá'í National Spiritual Assembly (NSA) in 1973. He also served as a professor at Tehran University in the philosophy department. During a wave of persecution toward Bahá'ís in 1979, Ali Murad was kidnapped and has been presumed a probable victim of state execution.
