Tadao Ando is a self educated architect of Japan. He was born on September 13, 1941 in Minato-ku, Osaka, Japan. Before starting his career as an architect Tadao Ando worked as a truck driver. Tadao Ando established a design studio Tadao Ando Architect and Associates in 1968 and has constructed many notable buildings like Church of the light, Nagaragawa Convention Center, Row House and Water Temple. Tadao Ando has been honored with many awards such as Alvar Aalto Medal (1985), Pritzker Prize (1995), RIBA Royal Gold Medal (1997) and AIA Gold Medal (2002).
