Anjan Dutta or Anjan Dutt is a Kolkata based famous singer-songwriter of the 1990s Bengali music scene known as anyodharar gaan (alternative music). He was born in Kolkata, West Bengal on January 19, 1953. He is also an actor, musician and director. Anjan Dutta has done MA in English literature from the University of Calcutta. He is also the recipient of best newcomer award at the Venice Film Festival for his role in the movie Chalachitro which was directed by Mrinal Sen. Shunte Ki Chao, Purono Guitar, Bhalobashi Tomay and Keu Gaan Gaye are some of the albums of Anjan Dutta. Bow Barracks Forever, the Bong Connection, chalo Let's Go, Madly Bangalee and Chowrasta: Crossroads of Love are some of the movies directed by him.
