Avraham Burg or Avrum Burg is a politician in Israel. He was born on January 19, 1955 in Jerusalem, Israel. Avraham Burg is the former chairman of the Jewish non-profit Agency for Israel. His political career started in the 1980's as an activist in left-wing organizations. Avraham Burg became the advisor on Diaspora affairs to Prime Minister Shimon Peres in 1985. He represented Labor Party, Alignment and One Israel in Knesset before resigning from the Knesset and public life in 2004. Avraham Burg has also authored books viz. Brit Am, God is Back , The Holocaust Is Over etc.
