Alaa Abd El-Fattah is a political activist, blogger and and a software developer. Born on 18 November 1981, he is the co-founder of two blog aggregators "Manalaa" and "Omraneya" in Egypt. Alaa Abd El-Fattah`s blog "Manalaa" has won the Special Reporters Without Borders Award in 2005. Arrested twice for involvement in October 9 Maspero demonstrations and when during a peaceful protest in 2006, He called for an independent judiciary.
