History
The planning of Carolina Place Mall was started
More Than thirty years ago. The mall was started by The
Belk and Ivey's families with a land of $8.5 million. Later, Ivey's sold own land to Bell, and the planning of mall started in the mid-1980s. It was originally opened with four stores for the
Citizens of the North Carolina in 1991. After two years, one new store, named Hecht's (now Macy's) opened within the mall that was the mall's fifth anchor store. As of 2014, there are over 133 stores.

There are several features within the mall which include ATM, Children's Play Area, Family Restroom, and Lost and Found, Nursing Lounge, Safety Escorts, Santa Pagers, Soft Seating Area, Stroller Rental, Transportation Schedules, Wheelchair Service and Mall Gift Cards.
