Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim was established in June 1962 by Late Padmashri Vasantrao S. Dempo, Late Vaikuntrao S. Dempo, the Late Dayanand Bandodkar and other generous members of the society. Presently Dhempe College of Arts & Science is being managed by the Dempo Charities Trust. The College has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore which has given B+ grading to the college.
The main objective of Dhempe Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim is to provide good quality education to young students so that the acquired knowledge would help them in their overall development.
The College has a team of highly qualified and committed staff. The faculty believes in personal attention to the students and hard work. They are therefore very strict in attendance, participation of students in curricular and co-curricular learning activities and in evaluation.
The Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim library has a large collection of books, journals of learned societies, Government Gazettes, periodicals and newspapers. The library is housed in a separate building to enable students to have more study facilities. The students are encouraged to make full use of the library facilities, subject to the rules which govern the smooth working of the library. A reading room of 100 seating capacity is above the library.
Every student must obtain from the Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim office a student’s Identity Card. Application for this will have to be accompanied by the fee-receipt and two copies of the student’s photograph when notified. Renewal of Identity Cards in the case of the old students will be done on submission of the previous identity card during college hours. The students have to produce the Identity Card on demand during the College/University examinations. The Identity Card shall be returned to the college office without fail when the students leave the college.
Gymkhana organizes coaching, training, sports and games to participate in intercollegiate sports events. Selections are based on attendance, practice sessions, coaching camps and friendly matches. Coaching is given to members who are selected for the intercollegiate level. The Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim students council and gymkhana council elections will be held in the First term according to rules and guidelines framed by the Principal. The councils must get their activities approved by the Principal before they are implemented. The council shall take prior permission of the Principal of the college before organizing any extracurricular activity and raising of funds.

The objective of the N.S.S. is to develop national consciousness and social responsibility in University students. The unit undertakes adult literacy classes, natural labour camps, care of the sick in the hospitals and such other service to the nation. A member of the teaching staff is appointed by the Principal to coordinate all activities under the NSS. The Dhempe College of Arts and Science - DCAS Panjim has the N.C.C (Infantry Wing) unit under the guidance of qualified lecturer. Students are encouraged to join the unit for developing their personality. All necessary facilities in this connection are provided to the N.C.C. Cadets. This unit is open to all students who enroll in this college.
