International Institute of Information Technology - IIIT Hyderabad is an independent institute started in 1998 with seed support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It was visualized by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

International Institute of Information Technology is a centre of learning for both under graduate and post graduate programs. The course pattern lays importance on research at both graduate and under graduate levels. The institute offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Electronics. Dual degree courses in either disciplines leading to a MS by Research degree are also offered. The Post graduate programs provided are Master of Technology, Master of Science Research and Master of Philosophy. PhD courses are also offered by the Institute.
