Kalyani Mahavidyalaya was established in 1999 to cater not only to the needs of Kalyani, but also the vast areas in Nadia, Hooghly and North 24 Parganas. Kalyani Mahavidyalaya is a premiere educational institute following the curriculum of Kalyani University. Situated at the City Centre Complex of the beautiful city of Kalyani, the College has gained immense popularity among the denizens of Kalyani and the surroundings for its exceptional features. This Website has been launched to extend the Institute towards all associated.
Like many other educational institutions Kalyani Mahavidyalaya too was founded with a clear vision of catering to the needs of the young boys and girls of this city and the surrounding urban and semi urban localities. Our basic objective is the creation of intellectual environment for an ideal learner centric education system where students are encouraged to think and find their own solution. The aim of Kalyani Mahavidyalaya is to continuously strive for introducing different advanced and innovative courses in the various new disciplines to keep pace with the changing scenario of the global education system. Kalyani Mahavidyalaya provides Bachelor Degree program to the students.
Kalyani Mahavidyalaya is located at City Centre Complex, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal. Kalyani Mahavidyalaya is gradually enriching it's collection of books, reference materials, journals, magazines periodicals etc. etc. to cater to the needs of the learners. Our futuristic plan is to shape the library into a modern computerized database of extensive resource materials with Internet and media facilities, and ample space has been allotted for library and research work for achieving academic excellence. We have also started departmental libraries.
We have already started in Kalyani Mahavidyalaya campus Internet Centre for the Teachers and Students to enrich the knowledge base and research prospects. We have already started in-campus Photo-copy Centre for the Teachers and Students at nominal cost to help the students and teachers in studies. A students' Health Home Centre will be opened shortly. The College has also plans to organize Health Camps and Seminars on Health.
Kalyani Mahavidyalaya regularly participates in sports and games and competes in inter-college sports. The Mahavidyalaya conducted Non-Government College Sports meet in Nadia District and participated in different games. Students represented the University at national level and participated in East-Zone Youth Festival, the National Festival organized by AILU and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Activities, the Govt. of India, and also participated in the Elliot Shield football tournament organized by IFA and CAB Cricket Tournament.
Kalyani Mahavidyalaya organizes educational tours for different departments. To join such tour/field work programme is mandatory for Geography (H) and Botany (H) students as per University Syllabus. For overall development of student's personality, the Mahavidyalaya provides ample scope and sufficient motivation to the students in the field of academics, culture and sports. Seminars are regularly organized by different departments of the Mahavidyalaya.
Kalyani Mahavidyalaya Magazine is published every year and articles are contributed by students, teachers and administrative staffs. Wall magazines are also published regularly. There is also plan for a web-magazine and a Mahavidyalaya Annual Journal. The Mahavidyalaya has future plans to publish monthly Newsletters containing important information regarding Mahavidyalaya activities and research progress.
