The dawn of August 15, 1974 not only welcomed the anniversary of Indian independence but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the annals of education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This eventful day saw the forming of
MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad MNR Educational Trust, founded by Sri. M.N. Raju, Chairman of MNR Educational Group, who conceived the idea of network of MNR institutions long before it was given a concrete shape, and is the guiding and motivating force that inspires the dedicated staff members and the ever growing numbers of the student community.
MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad is situated in the MNR-AHER Campus, Sangareddy and is affiliated to Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and A.P. Nurses, Midwives Council, Hyderabad. College professionals are highly respected and recognized for their high levels competence in India and abroad. Housed in an independent, spacious building adjacent to the 500 bed MNR Teaching Hospital, the college imparts global standards in nursing education to students pursuing Degree and Diploma programs.
The MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad students attend all the extension OPD's and ''Outreach'' programs conducted by MNR Medical Institutions to gain valuable practical experience. Students interested in pursuing further studies in India and abroad are given coaching for CGFNS, TOEFL and IELTS. The subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, OB , Gynic, Eye, ENT & ortho etc are taught by the same faculty of MNR Medical College that handle MBBS program, while other subjects are handled by efficient Nursing faculty.
MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad is located at Kukatpally, Hyderabad. College students get their clinical experience in 500-bed MNR Hospital (in the same campus). They are also attached to Nizam Institute of Medical Science for advanced Medical - Surgical Nursing & specialties, The Institute of Tropical disease, Nilofer hospital for Child Health, Gandhi Hospital and Institute of Mental Health, Hyderabad for gaining valuable practical experiences in various scenarios. Institution has selected two villages in Sangareddy and one urban centre for community health nursing experience. The MNR Health Centre at Isnapur also helps nursing students gain hands-on experience where they are attached in the final year of study. With the starting of its medical college campus (MNR-AHER) at Sangareddy, it was decided to provide transportation between various parts of Hyderabad city and the MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad . Initially three buses started operating between the MNR-AHER campus and the city. Having 9 institutions in the MNR-AHER campus, now 43 buses are operating from various parts of Hyderabad to the campus.
MNR has an excellent Central library, perhaps one of the best in the region. The state of the art MNR library is a domain for information seekers, be it students, faculty or researchers. The Library has the right kind of infrastructure and facilities that provide comfortable seating and reading environment. The MNR School of Nursing – Hyderabad library has over 13,200 classified textbooks, reference books and a sizeable number of research journals, with group study area for graduate and postgraduate students, and private study area for faculty. MNR subscribes to several national and international medical journals. The library also has huge collection of educational CDs providing vast information on every aspect of human illness and the treatment procedures followed. Students have unlimited online access to over 4 Lakh books in digital format available from the libraries of its international partner medical schools.

MNR chefs from both northern and southern India who are real experts in their specialties churn out great tasting food. MNR residential block for NRI students has all the modern amenities to suit their needs. This block offers rooms for individual stay or on twin sharing basis with attached toilets. Additional facilities like air-conditioners, telephones and Internet are also provided. Wardens & deputy wardens constantly monitor the needs of the students and play the role of local guardians. As the residential premises are very close to the academic block, students have the advantage of access to library till late.
