Mata Sundri College for Women was founded in 1967. The college got its recognition from University Grant Commission, thereby instilling till today qualities of leadership, strong academic pursuit and determination. This was the College motto when the college authorities visualized a modern auditorium for the college. Mata Sundari College for Women aims to make every student of the college proud of her association with the institution.
Mata Sundri College for Women had only one beautiful lawn which they did not want to sacrifice. Yet, there was no other place for the much- needed auditorium. Eventually they were able to keep the lawn and begin the construction of an elevated auditorium. The College believes that in them lies the potential to usher in newness, and also to awaken us to the needs of change. The aim of education should be to free the trapped energies of the youth, to provide guidance for their enthusiasm and initiative.
Mata Sundri College for Women offers Graduate and Post Graduate courses for students. In addition, the college has a society for students incorporating their ability in the fields of dance and music. The vocational courses introduced by college are quite sought after. The courses offered are Travel and Tourism, Computer Application, and Textile Designing. The College also has an Alumni Association, a placement cell which conducts newer activities every year.
Mata Sundri College for Women also offers B.EI.Ed Courses. This course is integrated teaching course in areas of teacher's training. Its duration is four years and the course is one of its kinds and is preferred by maximum number of students.
Mata Sundri College for Women has a placement cell which tries to get job opportunities for the students. Placements are done in the college with the help of the central Placement Cell of the University of Delhi. The companies that participated in the placement drive during 2008-2009 were I.T.C, Dell, Wipro, ATS, Elililly, Barclays.
