Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts Mahavidyalaya – Chandrapur run by Bhadrawati Shikshan Sanstha, Bhandrawati has been established in 1993 under the dynamic leadership of Shri. Nilkanthrao Y. Shinde (Ex. M.L.A. & Secretary Bhadrawati Shikshan Sanstha, Bhadrawati). In this N.S. college science faculty was started initially in 1999 faculty of Art's has been established for the development of the students in the rural area.
On the demand of students as well their parents Post Graduate Classes in Science & Art's faculty were introduced in this college. Apart from the regular courses, Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts Mahavidyalaya – Chandrapur has introduced vocational courses, PGDCCA in Computer Application to give the update knowledge of computer education to the students. Today near about 1250 students are taking their higher education.
Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts Mahavidyalaya – Chandrapur is situated at Bhadrawati, District-Chandrapur (M.S). In the year 2004, NAAC committee has been visited and awarded prestigious B Grade (71.50% Marks) to this college. Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts Mahavidyalaya – Chandrapur has well equipped laboratories, well established library, big play ground, a specious auditorium & two multistoried buildings with well furnished class-rooms and a beautiful botonical garden. At present there are 1250 students taking higher education in different faculties. Fourteen faculty members and sixteen non-teaching staff members of this college are well qualified & approved by R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur.
Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts Mahavidyalaya – Chandrapur has established one unit of N.C.C for Boys (50 students) to give the military training to the students under the leadership of Group Captain P.M. Wasake, who has completed successfully P R C N 136 NCC officer training, at Officers Treaining academy Kamptee, in 2005.College also conducts various activities under the banner of N.S.S., Population Education Club, and Women's studies & service center.
