Gauri Shankar Educational Trust was formed under which the foundation of Rameshwari Devi Kanya Mahavidyalya – Agra was laid down at May 4th, 2003 at Nagala Basua, near Patholi at Agra-Jaipur national highway at a distance of 9.2 km from Agra collectorate. Many institutions and colleges of higher education for boys and girls were established in Agra before independence, but after independence no educational institute was established in the vast region between Agra and Bharatpur at Agra-Jaipur national highway.
Resulting that thousands of girls of this area did not get higher education every year and this area become very backward from educational point of view. Therefore many social workers, educationists and other prominent persons, who were directly or indirectly related to Agra, thought deeply on this problem and decided to open a good degree college exclusively for girls at national highway between Agra and Bharatpur.

Rameshwari Devi Kanya Mahavidyalya – Agra college pays attention not only on the quality of literal education to students but also provides them moral and social education so that students make themselves self reliant and may develop their personality. To achieve this goal and to run this college in right direction, responsibility is taken by the members of the Trust, prominent persons of the area and the guardians. Rameshwari Devi Kanya Mahavidyalya – Agra offers different kind of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Keeping in the view the trend & standard of existing modern education system, Rameshwari Devi Kanya Mahavidyalya – Agra has purchased about 7000 books of different subjects and arranged them in its library which is equipped with modern facilities. Audio-Visual lab is equipped with all required instrument and apparatus. Education is also given here by C.D., Cassettes received from UGC.
A self-service restaurant is available for students and teachers. Well equipped labs of zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology are available. Hostel for girls is available outside Rameshwari Devi Kanya Mahavidyalya – Agra campus. Girls are not allowed to go outside the college campus without prior permission of principal and security arrangement for the security of students as well as college property adequately made. To provide easy conveyance to girls & teachers college is running many buses on the basis of no profit no loss.
