S D College of Pharmacy is run by S.D. College Educational Society (Regd.) Head Office, Barnala. The foundation of this society was laid under the guidance of Dr. Raghubir Parkash, a multi-faceted personality and at present it runs five institutes.
Earlier the society carried the name of S.D. College. To meet the needs of the people of Barnala and adjoining areas, it was required that some technical and professional courses should be started. Diploma of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy was started to provide an opportunity to the students of the S D College of Pharmacy to derive the greatest benefit of modern technology. The credit of this splendid progress goes to the hardworking and diligent staff of the college and of course to the Managing Committee which always gives positive direction to the developmental endeavors of the institution.
S D College of Pharmacy provides four years Bachelor of Pharmacy course. The Institute has a well-equipped library with a wide collection of books and journals. 13 periodicals and 5 dailies are also subscribed. The total process of library administration is computerized; separate reading & reference sections are maintained for the convenience of the students.
S D College of Pharmacy campus building with its open playgrounds, a vast hall for indoor games, spacious and airy classrooms, well-equipped science labs, hi-tech air-conditioned computer labs and well furnished library speaks volumes of its grandeur. Special thrust is being laid on providing quality education to the students along with other related programmes, with other co-curricular activities.
The instruction is informal, designed to get best out of the students of the S D College of Pharmacy. The methods vary-workshops, panel or group discussions, seminars, dialogues and brain-storming. The efforts of all teachers and management members is to pull the entire faculty in one direction that of "institution building".
S D College of Pharmacy Institute has well equipped laboratories of P’ Chem, P’ Cognosy, P’Ceutics, P’ Cology, Computer experiments. Equipment is available for all the experiments as per the requirement laid down by the university. Expert faculty lab in charges and lab technicians look after the equipment and guide & assist the students in carrying out experiments. Institute have also well maintained and highly informative Museum, Medicinal Garden and Animal House.
S D College of Pharmacy is a center of attractive for all the sports lovers of the institute. To ensure that student take proper care of their health. It is will all latest conscious & particular about their physical fitness as only young & energetic youth can make a nation great & strong.

The objective is to keep us abreast of utilization of IT to increase time prove our knowledge in all academic and research activities. The entire computer has power backup.
