Spurthy Institute of Nursing - Bangalore was established in the year 2003-04. This programme of study leads to a 3 years and 6 months diploma course. The Spurthy Institute of Nursing - Bangalore has been approved by Indian Nursing Council vide Certificate No 18-15/1365-INC dt. 12 Jan 2005 and approved by KNC vide Certificate No 133/07 dt. 07 June 2007.
The purpose of GNM course is to prepare a qualified general nurse who will function as a member of a Health team, beginning with consultancy for first level position in both hospital and community health services especially in rural areas. The school has designed specific curriculum that prepares the student to develop an aptitude for nursing and to provide the required knowledge and skills to give comprehensive nursing care to patients of all types of illness. There will be two Examinations every year. One Annual examination in August and supplementary examination in February. Theory examination will be held in the identified centres and practical examination will be held in the clinical area of respective institutions. Examinations will be held both in the morning and the after noon sessions.
