Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak came into existence in 1957 with a humble beginning by introducing a diploma in Civil Engg. At present it is offering diploma courses in 8 branches of Engineering and 2 branches of Non- Engineering field. The scheme of studies discipline wise along with intake etc. Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak is managed by the Board of Governors comprising representatives from Central Government, State Directorate of Technical Education - Haryana, Vaish Education Society and Staff of Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak. It is a Govt. aided institute. State Govt. meets out 95% of the recurring deficit. All the disciplines have established faculty at all levels.

A 30 seater Girls Hostel has also been constructed, with the assistance of World Bank. Library with separate Reading Room for staff and students with more than 25000 books, 10 Newspapers & a large no. of Journals & Magazines both for general & technical interest is a regular feature.
Cultural Activities of all sorts like Solo song, Group song, Mono acting Paper reading, Poems, Quiz Competition etc. are regularly held in Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak. Also a lot of functional of national, environmental and cultural importance like Independence Day, Republic Day, Haryana Heroes Martyrdum Day are eloberated. A separate cell of learning resources utilization centre has been set up to provide & maintain all types of Audio Visual Aids like Overhead Projectors, T.V.,V.C.R. etc. along with full fledged Graphic facilities with Video Camera, Photostat machine or Stencil cutting machine, Electronic typewriter, Lamination equipment etc. also part of LRUC.
Community development scheme under the ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. Of India was started in Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak in 1990 & so far we have trained more than 5000 candidates for earning their livelihood by following different vocations like Domestic Electric wiring & Motor winding, Plumber, Radio & TV technician, Refrigeration & Air conditioners making, Steel furniture, Cutting & Tailoring, Computer Applications etc. The main objective of Community Development Cell is to improve productivity, upgrading existing skills, improving ability of rural youth & other weaker section through competence based on non formal training & improving the quality of life by introducing proper technologies.
Vaish Technical Institute - Rohtak have got facilities for all types of major & minor games & sports e.g. Cricket, Hockey, Football, Volley Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basket Ball & Kabaddi etc. Athletic meet is an annual feature and Boys & Girls take part overwhelmingly in Inter Polytechnic Athletic Meet.
