Ballari Institute of Technology and Management - BITM Bellary was started under the aegis of T.E.H.R.D. Trust, Bellary in the year 1997 and is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The T.E.H.R.D. Trust was setup in 1981 with an object of promoting, establishing and conducting activities in the field of education ranging from Nursery, Primary, Technical and Management Institutes. Through these institutes the trust seeks to fulfill its vision of providing world class education and create abundant opportunities for the youth of this nation to excel in the areas of Engineering & Technology, Management and Schooling.

The college is in the process of National Board of Accreditation (NBA) & will able to obtain the accreditation. The College is located in a sprawling campus popularly known as "JNANA GANGOTRI", at T.S. No.392, W.No.4, and Kolagal. BITM has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities which include high speed wireless networking, latest computers and software, dedicated internet connectivity, well equipped laboratories, spacious library with rich collection of books & journals. The academic programs offered are vigorous and are continuously being updated to keep abreast of modern developments and innovations in associated disciplines. New courses will be added every year based on the demand and requirements.
Ballari Institute of Technology and Management - BITM Bellary greatest strength is its faculty, we have highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with sound background of the subject and strong desire to keep pace with latest developments in their emerging fields. The special feature of our institution’s faculty is excellent teacher student relationship, rolling together intellectually and personally and study process to mould the students to develop their personality. Apart from this, the students are monitored, mentored, trained and guided by the dedicated faculty to meet the technological challenges of tomorrow. A standard Football, Cricket Ground & Volleyball Courts have been maintained by the Department of Institute. The Sports Council is conducting Annual Sports every year and the students are encouraged to attend the Inter Collegiate and VTU Tournament. A well-equipped Gymnasium with Multi-Gym Facilities available for daily exercises which is kept open from 6 a.m. for the students.

The hostels are ideally suited for studies, spacious rooms, lounges, TV, etc., with hygienic, healthy and clean kitchen to provide nutrition food to the wards and parental care, the student friendly wardens round the clock is provided. The College has a Canteen inside the campus. The canteen remains open on all working day.
The Central Library of
Ballari Institute of Technology and Management - BITM Bellary encourages every user to use the library to his/her advantage. At present the library has 52,738 Nos. (BE, M.Tech. MCA) + 4877 Nos. (MBA) and 7,824 Nos. (BE, M.Tech. MCA) + 579 Nos. (MBA) titles of books. There are National: 48 Nos. International: 26 Nos. hard copies of the journals. The library also subscribes Subscription from Online INDEST AICTE Consortium IEL online. The Library comprises of Reference Section, Journal Section, Socially Weaker Section, Stack Area, Audio-visual Section, Book Bank, Periodical Section, Reprographic Section and Internet & Digital Library Section. Placement to the students is given top priority. The students are given continuous training and orientation towards this. For this academic year, majority of the students are already placed in various reputed companies like; Infosys Technologies, Siemens, Keane Software, L&T InfoTech, Rob soft, KPIT Cummins, Tech Mahindra, JSW Steels, etc.
