To cater the educational needs of the people, one such dynamic educational society which has come forward in Rajasthan is ‘Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research (PAHER).’
Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE, a beautiful brainchild of Mr. B.R. Agarwal, has given a number of quality institutes to Udaipur. The society was set up in 1997 with the mission of creating outstanding scholars in the field of medicine, management, computers and education, who can adapt the past, master the present and prepare for the future. The society aims at forming a University so as to cater the needs of the students more efficiently. The remarkable creations of the PAHER, till date, are ‘Pacific College’, ‘Pacific Dental College’, ‘Pacific Institute of Management’, ‘Darshan Dental College’ and ‘Pacific College of Teachers’ Education.’
Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE of Teachers’ Education in the new arrival of this prestigious society. PCTE offers one year B. Ed programme in Teachers’ Education. The annual intake is 100 (One hundred only) and the seats are filled through ‘Pre Teacher’s Entrance Test’ (PTET). The desired students go through counseling before taking admission in the B. Ed programme. The Fee schedule is decided by the government of Rajasthan.
Surrounded by mesmerizing scenic beauty, Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE is situated on the Airport Road, 12 Kms from Udaipur. The college glows bright with various facilities, e.g., Language Lab, Psychological Lab, Computer Lab, Audio-Visual Department, Administrative Office, Seminar Hall, Library and a handsome strength of teaching faculty under the dynamic supervision of a well experienced and learned principal, Dr. N.N.G. Mathur.
The objective of the Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE is to create a cadre of professional women who can learn to consider problems from a broad educational and teaching perspective after being imparted the virtues of knowledge, skills and application. The intellectually enriched faculty and advisory council of eminent academicians provide the visionary inputs and support to the college. The college also strives to inculcate a heightened sense of moral and social responsibility that the student’s future position demands of them. To achieve these ambitious goals, PCTE seeks to develop and instill in its pupils some key characteristics :- (i) The Overall Perspective: - Which helps the pupils to view an organization in its entirety and understand its position in the environment in which it operates. (ii) Analytical and Integrative Skills: - The pupils organize unstructured and vague information into accurate definition of problems. Then in turn generate creative options and ensure effective implementation. (iii) Technical and Functional Skills: - Which collectively comprise of professional literacy in the tools and techniques of education/teaching. (iv) Integrity: -The personal ethics that makes a conscious and competent teacher a true professional. (v) Professional Maturity: - To enable our graduates to interact successfully with a diverse range of subordinates, peers, superiors and competitors and perform in a dynamic contest with distinctions.
The Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE has an intake of 100 Students. The candidates are selected through PTET competitive examination. The PTET office allots the candidate to the college. College fees have been approved by Govt. of Rajasthan. Each student has to Pay Rs. 22,400 per anum.
Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE Sprawling campus built on 10 acre of lush verdure at Pratap Nagar Extension, Airport Road, is the perfectly serene haven of erudition. It’s well connected with road and is easily accessible at 10 KMs from Surajpole towards the airport.
The Science lab will be used with the permission of the Principal and with the concerned teacher. Nothing would be given from the Science lab. Additional charges would be taken for special examinations/experiments in the science lab. Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE has establishes his own Psychological Lab for the students with in the campus. All the written and practical examination in the Psychological lab would be conducted in the presence and guidance of the concerned teacher and psychological lab assistance. The concerned teacher would be responsible for the maintenance of the psychological lab.
The Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE has sufficient audio-visual aids, like, overhead projector, film, projector, color television, V.C.R. (Video Cassette Recorder), L.C.D., tape-recorder and audio-video cassettes. Necessary educational demonstration of the audio-visual aids would be given from time to time. There is a language lab in the college. It is based on the conception of personal development. The students would be taught and would be made to practice the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit, Hindi and English languages so as to improve their communication skills under the guidance of the language teacher.
A training of computer Application lab has been also establishes within thePacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE. The course of “Training of Computer Application” is compulsory. Training of computer application has been made compulsory for all the B. Ed. students by the State Circular 12-5-Education 2000, Jaipur Dated 09.10.2000. It is compulsory for every student to pay the additional charges for this course according to the said instruction.
College offers Bachelor of Education course to students. Educational Tours and Camps have also been offered by the Pacific College of Teacher Education-PCTE to students. According to the academic programme of the college, educational tours, camps picnics, cultural trips would be organized. Additional charges would be taken for the conduction of these tours. There is a hostel facility in Pacific College of Teachers’ Education where the out stationed students can stay quite comfortably.
