Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT is affiliated to Banasthali University.
Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT was constituted in 1999 with the building "ICICI Center for Advanced Studies in Computer Science" constructed from generous donation of Rs 1 crore granted by ICICI. Soon after in 2001 it planned to broad base its activities to meet the shortfall in trained IT professionals in the country and opened its Jaipur campus at C-Scheme, a central location in Jaipur.
Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT has world class faculty in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Statistics, Physics and Bio-Informatics. Faculty is very active in research and development and has representation in many national and international conferences in India and abroad. The institute has completed many research projects and is constantly having research and development projects funded by government and private organizations.
Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT laboratories are equipped with the latest state of the art hardware and a large repository of software. Both the buildings are internally networked and are connected to the Campus Network of Banasthali which through optical fibers runs across all the academic blocks, libraries and PG hostels.
There is a highly riched and computerized Central Library having a collection of 10,000 text books on Mathematical Sciences including some recent reference books on Fuzzy Logic, Statistical, Mathematics and Basian Analysis etc. Apart from the Central Library our Apaji Institute has its own Library which is full of books, magazines, periodicals and journals. Both the Libraries having Mathematics Journals.
At present Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT has more than 1000 students in its post-graduate Programmes, and about 1500 in undergraduate programmes and more than 2000 PG students have graduated over the last 10 years. Most of them have secured highly respectable jobs for themselves in industry as well as in institutions of higher learning. Major IT companies of India include Banasthali in the list of their campus placement programme. For past many years the institute is having 100% placement record in companies such as HCL InfoTech, Perot Systems, Infosys Technologies, IBM Global Services, Satyam, TCS, WIPRO, IBM, Accenture and the packages offered to our best students is comparable to the best in the industry. A large number of our recent graduates are working for leading multinationals in USA and Europe.
Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT has a very active Ph.D. Programme. Many Ph.D. Degrees have already been awarded and a number of registered Ph.D. students are working on areas such as Communication Networks, Design and Analysis of Graph Algorithms, Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing and Indian Language Computing.
At Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT, the class room training provides the necessary conceptual background to the students. In order to bridge theory - practice gap, it is important that the students get exposed to day to day corporate realities. The objectives of the University-Industry-Linkage Project Training are to expose students not merely to corporate corridors but to the corporate action and work culture.
University-Industry-Linkage project is a salient feature of the Post-graduate programmes in Computer Science and Electronics at Banasthali. This allows the students to fine-tune their skills for the career ahead. The programme have been receiving active cooperation from some leading organizations like TCS, C-DOT, CMC, DCM, HCL, IBM, BARCO, NIC, Hughes Software, Siemens, Maruti Udyog, Softek, and also from renowned academic and research institutions like IIT- Delhi, IIT- Kanpur, TIFR, BARC, C-DAC-Pune, NCST-Mumbai, IIIT Hyderabad and CEERI, where the students have been visiting for the last several years. Often the project trainees are offered jobs by these host institutions upon successful completion of their project.
Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology-AIMACT offers excellent campus placement opportunities to the successful students. For instance, last year the institute had 100% placement in companies such as Infosys Technologies, HCL, Hughes, PCS, Satyam, TCS, WIPRO and the packages offered to our best students is comparable to the best in the industry. A large number of our recent graduates are working for leading multinationals in USA and Europe. Even when there was downfall in the IT industry, all the major IT companies visited the campus for the placement and hired the graduating students. In 2003 - 2004, the placement had picked up sharply where companies like TCS, Satyam, WIPRO, Infosys, IBM Global Services, Quark Technologies and few others conducted the placement activities. Table-1 gives the statistics on campus placement in the current session i.e. 2009-2010. One can see that almost all major IT companies have visited Banasthali University and have offered placement to large number of students from all the courses. Even when the placement has approached 100% placement activities have not come to an end. The detailed list of students placed in 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 is given in Annexure.
