The Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurvedic Studies and Research - Kollam was established by Sree Narayana Health Care Society in December 2003. The Sree Narayana Health Care Society is a sister concern of the Sree Narayana Educational Society which is the managing body of Sree Narayana Public School, Sree Narayana Institute of Technology and College of Technology. The persons behind the prestigious Sree Narayana Educational society realized the relevance of the 5000 years old Ayurveda and decided to set up a modern ayurvedic facility without losing the traditional touch. For this, many discussions were held with prominent physicians of traditional ayurvedic families and new generation teachers of ayurveda, and the project was launched in December 2003.
The Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurvedic Studies and Research - Kollam was established by Sree Narayana Health Care Society, a sister concern of Sree Narayana Educational Society which is the parent body for several world class educational institutions. The hospital has excellent treatment facilities and also offer a wide range of tourist packages and other recreational faculties. Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurvedic Studies and Research - Kollam also includes yoga centres and herbal gardens, which are unique features of this campus.
Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurvedic Studies and Research - Kollam is spread over an area of 37 acres of picturesque land on the banks of Kallada river. The college, hospital, hostel for boys and girls, medicine manufacturing unit and herbal gardens are accommodated in this land away from the hurry-burry of city life. It is nice and peaceful over here. Even though the institution started functioning from December 2003, the Honourable Union Minister for Health Dr. Anpumani Ramadoss formally opened it on 1st April 2005.
