In addition to a number of Patasalas (Vedic Schools) run by Sri Sankara Mutt, the first of its kind being Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram founded to provide quality higher education to the rural folk and to promote among the youth,the highest and loftiest ideals that constitute the essence of our culture.
Since its inception in 1991, Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram has seen phenomenal and qualitative growth. Affiliated to the University of Madras, it offers select undergraduate and postgraduate courses with premier faculty in first-rate scholarly and research environments. Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram got ISO 9001-2000 certification in 2008 and soon to get Quality NAAC Accreditation. The College is recognized under the UGC Section 2f of 1956. Recent additions have been the sophisticated IT Lab consisting of 150 Computers, three Servers with Windows and Multimedia, internet and web facilities, Biotechnology laboratory with imported instruments at the cost of RS.1crore, and the proposed M.B.A. Program with all the latest facilities.

Library in Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram is one of the most sophisticated centers of Learning. Started in the year 1991, the library hosts more than 20000 books on all subjects. Some of the areas of interest in the library are, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, COMMERCE, MATHEMATICS, MICROBIOLOGY, and BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIO CHEMISTRY. Most of the foreign edition books are made available for both UG and the PG students of the College. Books on General studies, General Knowledge, Books for Entrance Examinations, Spoken English, Personality Development, Soft Skills are some other books of interest.
Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram has got a vast playground with facilities for cricket, Foot ball, and track and field events. University Divisional Tournaments, District level tournaments for all games and sports are organized in our college Grounds.
There are Four NSS Units in Sri Sankara Arts and Science College – Kancheepuram, which have been doing tremendous service for the effective realization of the principles and objectives of National Service Scheme. Not me but you is the motto of NSS and for the past three years the objective of the Camps has been HEALTHY YOUTH AND HEALTHY INDIA. Based on the objective, the NSS units have organized the programmes which are related to health and hygiene. Transportation is available by College bus from various places with in Kanchipuram to Enathur.
