Ahmadu Bello University is located in Zaria, Kaduna State in Northern Nigeria. Its establishment began in 1961, and was fully operational in 1962. The university started with the faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, Law and Sciences, with fifteen academic departments and 426 students. The various programmes offered by Ahmadu Bello University include B. Ed. Arabic Education, B.A. Archeology, B.Sc. Accounting, B.Eng. Civil Engineering and many more. Ahmadu Bello University with support from Federal Government of Nigeria and the World Bank has also been involved in funding some students/staff research projects. These projects include Development of DNA Vaccines Against Trypanosomiasis, Diarrhoeal Agents and Nutritional Status of Children in North Western Nigeria etc.
