Patrick Bartholomew "Bertie" Ahern was a politician of Ireland in the past. He was born on 12 September 1951 in Drumcondra, Dublin, Ireland. From 26 June 1997 to 7 May 2008, Bertie Ahern was appointed as the Taoiseach of Ireland. He also served the nation as Minister for Labour from 10 March 1987 – 14 November 1991, Minister for Finance from 14 November 1991 – 15 December 1994, Minister for Industry and Commerce from 4 January 1993 – 12 January 1993 and Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht from 19 November 1994 – 15 December 1994. Bertie Ahern was also the head of Fianna Fáil political party from 19 November 1994 – 7 May 2008. He pursued his studies from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
